Sheila was first introduced to yoga over 50 years ago as a warm-up for theatrical performances at the Childrens' Theater Company of the MIA. Since her first formal yoga training in 2004. she has sought out the teachers of non-dualism and had the privilege of training with master teachers in the US and internationally including Sally Kempton (Meditation Teacher training), Richard Miller (Yoga Nidra), Mukunda Stiles (Structural Yoga Therapy), Dr Vasant Lad (Pranayama), and Dr N Chandrasekaran (Dr NC) of Chennai, India (treating medical conditions using yoga therapy).

Sheila's years studying with Master Yoga provided her with an extraordinary foundation in restorative yoga and yoga philosophy, as well as training in Embodyment Yoga Therapy. She also trained with Lee Albert (Positional Release Therapy) at Kripalu and studied Anatomy Trains (Tom Meyers faculty). Most recently her training has focused on healthy aging through her studies with Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation (ARPF), a worldwide organization centered in Scottsdale, AZ. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and a Certified Yoga Therapist C-IAYT. Sheila is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher E-RYT, a Brain Longevity Therapist and a Meditation Teacher.

Sheila founded Bliss Yoga Studio in 2006 and owned and operated the business through 2020. During her years as owner of Bliss Yoga Studio she was active in the community, providing yoga classes in the parks, schools, nurses conferences, and local businesses. She also developed and taught a Yoga Alliance Certified 200 hour RYT curriculum.

Sheila lives with her husband and their cats Milo and Daisy in Roseville, MN. She enjoys world travel, gardening, hiking, poetry, dance, cooking and celebrating family meals.

The therapeutic components of our Restorative Yoga classes and all other yoga classes are based on our teachers’ extensive training, study, and personal experiences. We are trained in healing modalities, including alignment-based yoga, restorative and therapeutic yoga, Positional Release Therapy, energy work such as Reiki, therapeutic yoga for treating pain, trauma-informed yoga, meditation, and our own personal journeys through loss, illness and injury. These techniques are not derived from our teachers’ status as ERYT-500, ERYT-200 or RYT-200 certified teachers with Yoga Alliance Registry.
